Story:

This Candy Apple Red and Gold bike features a twisted gold frame. Not only does this tricked out ride have handle bars, there is a working steering wheel and side mirrors. Red velvet banana seat makes this ride very comfortable. The tries are white walled and the back wheel has a “fat” tire.

This one of a kind bike was custom built by Joe King around 2000, 2001. Every spare minute Joe was working on his bike. Joe and a friend, Johnny each built a bike. Johnny’s was silver and gold. Johnny’s dad worked at a bike shop in Indiana and the boys could get a discount. Both boys saved their money, got summer jobs and bought parts one at a time and built their dream bikes. This was a summer long labor of pride for them. Joe has approximately $800.00 in his bike, without the discounts it would easily have cost $1,000-$1,200.00.

Joe not only has his summer job money in the bike he has a lot of time, pride and memories. Joe put his signature on this bike by adding crowns as tire caps. (King-crown). The bike is very dear to Joe, special because it gives a feeling of accomplishment that he could build something this spectacular from scratch…and its ride-able! He received long looks and whistles when he would ride his bike - No one else had one like his.

Joe hopes some special person receives this bike, takes pride and care as he did building and riding it and gets to make their own special memories and the money received helps the residents of Brethren Retirement Community.
