When is a Glass Globe not a Glass Globe? #243

When it's also known as a "witches ball. For centuries, beautiful glass globes have been hung in windows to ward off evil spirits. Hanging these decorative glass spheres is thought to tantilize evil spirits until they become totally mesmerized by the sphere's inner beauty. It was believed that if an evil spirit touched the glass sphere, it would be trapped by the web-like strands of glass inside the sphere.

The glass artist who produced, along with the donor, hope this beautiful piece of art will protect your home's tranquility for years. Handblown by glass artist, Ralph Prince of St. Paris, OH. This history of the "witches ball" is attached to the sphere.

Donor:

Linda Minnich
